The minimum alcohol content for rum is 37.5% and can rise up theoretically to 80%. In between is overproof rum, starting at 57,15 %.
Does it taste good? Well, Overproof rum is only very rarely drunk pure, because the clear ester taste masks the aromas, but it’s similar to casks strenght whiskey, where you let the customer decide for himself how much water to add and how close he stays to authentic, genuine enjoyment.
